Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with former coach Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's maiden title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface after March of 2023.

The win also indicates he has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my children together, so to win a title is really nice," said world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour championship, took control to create a final set.

He saved 4 early-game break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
